What are the performance characteristics of the planetary precision reducer

2021-05-10

Planetary precision reducer is another name for planetary reducer in the industry. The main transmission structures are planetary gears, sun gears and internal ring gears.

Compared with other reducers, planetary precision reducers have high rigidity, high precision (single-stage can reach within 1 minute), high transmission efficiency (single-stage 97%-98%), high torque/volume ratio, and lifetime maintenance-free Features. Most are installed on stepper motors and servo motors to reduce speed, increase torque and match inertia.

Reduction ratio: The input speed is higher than the output speed.

Number of stages: the number of planetary gear sets. Since one set of planetary gears cannot meet the larger transmission ratio, sometimes two or three sets are required to meet the user's requirements for a larger transmission ratio. As the number of planetary gears increases, the length of the second or third stage deceleration will increase and the efficiency will decrease.

Full load efficiency: Refers to the transmission efficiency of the reducer under larger load conditions (fault stop output torque).

Average life: Refers to the continuous working time of the reducer under rated load and higher input speed.

Rated torque: the standard of the reducer. Under this value, when the output speed is 100 rpm, the life of the planetary precision reducer is the average life. If this value is exceeded, the average life of the reducer will be shortened. When the output torque exceeds twice this value, the reducer fails.

Lubrication mode: does not require lubrication. The planetary precision reducer is completely sealed, and there is no need to add grease during the entire service life.

Noise: The unit is decibel (dB). When the input speed is 3000 rpm, no load and one meter away from the planetary precision reducer, measure this value.

Backlash: When the output end is fixed and the input end rotates clockwise and counterclockwise to produce ±2% of the rated torque at the output end, there is a slight angular displacement at the input end of the reducer, which is called backlash. The unit is "arc minutes", which is one sixtieth of a degree. The usual return clearance value refers to the output end of the reducer.
